How it works

A designed room, without a designer in your house.

1

Share your space

Photos from your phone, rough measurements and a short style quiz. It takes about twenty minutes, and there is no home visit to arrange.

2

Review your concept

Within a week you get a concept board: the direction, palette and layout for your space. You tell Rachel what to keep and what to change.

3

Receive your room kit

Your final design board, a furniture layout to scale, and a clickable shopping list of vintage and ethically sourced pieces within your budget.

Sustainability

Designed to last longer than the trend.

Vintage first

Before anything new, Rachel searches resale, antique and secondhand sources. Most rooms get better, not worse, when something in them has lived a little.

Certified where it counts

Where new pieces are needed, the list prioritises credible labels: FSC certified timber, OEKO-TEX textiles and peat-free planting, checked at the time of sourcing.

Buy less, choose well

Every design starts with what you already own. You will never get a list that replaces a room for the sake of it, and UK makers are preferred to cut shipping.

About

The studio behind your Sunday feeling.

Sunday Ambience is the online design studio of Rachel Hannah. It is named after the way a home feels on a slow Sunday morning: unhurried, soft, and completely yours. That feeling is the brief for every room and garden the studio takes on.

Rachel designs from Cardiff for homes anywhere in the UK. Her rule is simple: start with what you already own, add vintage before new, and choose pieces that will still be loved in ten years. Good design should not cost the earth, in either sense.

Every enquiry, concept and room kit is handled personally by Rachel. No handoffs, no design factory, and nothing generated for you by a machine: a real designer, looking at your real room.

Questions

Asked before you ask.

How does online design actually work?

Everything happens by email and video call. You send photos, measurements and a style quiz; Rachel designs your space and sends the boards, layout and shopping list back. You order what you like, when you like, and put the room together at your own pace.

Do I need to be in Cardiff?

No. Sunday Ambience is fully online and works with homes anywhere in the UK. Rachel designs from Cardiff, and everything you receive is digital.

What if I do not like the concept?

The concept stage exists exactly for that. You say what to keep and what to change, and one full round of revisions is included in every room package. The design is not finished until it feels like yours.

Do you buy the furniture for me?

No, and that is deliberate. Your shopping list is clickable and budgeted, but you stay in control of every purchase, so you can spread the cost or find your own treasures along the way.

Is my room too small, too rented or too ordinary?

No. Rented homes, small rooms and awkward corners are most of the work, and renter-friendly choices (no structural changes, landlord-safe finishes) are part of the design brief from the start.

How long does it take?

A Power Hour is booked within days. Colour fixes arrive within 5 working days. Full room and garden designs typically take 2 to 3 weeks from your questionnaire to the finished kit.
